While this does have a very slight Indica dominance (55% Indica/45% Sativa), the high definitely starts out a little more cerebral and Sativa-like. The quick set-in of the heady high can be somewhat overwhelming for novice users, but this feeling is followed swiftly by an extremely soothing body buzz that rounds out the experience perfectly.

Gelato is a great, all-around recreational and medicinal strain that can really help with stress relief and relaxation, and while the CBD count is lower than what most consider to be medicinally effective, the THC count more than makes up for it. Perfect for users looking for relief from sleep and hunger-related issues.

Gelato weed seeds prefer slightly warmer conditions, with outdoor crops flourishing in a Mediterranean-like climate. Temps of between 75 to 80 F are perfect, with a humidity range starting out near 70% and dropping to 50% by the end of the flowering period.

Indoors these conditions can be controlled easily with the right set-up, and if done correctly the plants will reward with a handsome harvest of 500 – 600g/m2. Keep in mind that this strain can be a little tricky, but with a few simple training methods (like topping and super-cropping) yields can be increased significantly. We also suggest setting up a ScrOG screen just before flowering begins, with the flowering period running between 8 to 10 weeks.

Gelato doesn't grow the biggest buds, but the medium-sized nuggets are about as dense as can be. The rock-hard flowers come with a gorgeous base of dark forest green, which can also offer some surprisingly eye-popping purples if the overnight temperatures drop below 65F. Bountiful neon orange pistils stand out magnificently and only add to the overall bag appeal.

The fragrance of the Gelato weed strain is dominated by heavy fruit notes, with an undercurrent of cookie dough and some slight diesel tone that really help round everything out. A super well-balanced strain in terms of both genetics and aroma.
