“Skunk” is most frequently used (albeit incorrectly) as a term for really strong smelling or high THC weed. In actual fact Skunk is more accurately a specific strain that was first developed in the mid 70’s from landrace Afghani Indica, Mexican and Columbian Sativa cannabis.

It is one of the first hybridized strains and has gone on to be the cornerstone and great grandparent of a huge range of modern strains. Some of these are so many generations old since the original Skunk #1, that they bare almost no relation to it except for that distinctive aroma.
