STRAIN TRAITS
Details
Purple Power was developed from early Dutch Skunk and Thai Haze varieties. These Skunk and Haze varieties are both purple phenotypes. This is a Sativa-dominant strain with high concentrations of THC that can easily exceed 20%.
Effects
The buzz of the Purple Power strain is something to remember. It has an incredible heady stone that can help you focus and bring on intense happiness. Additionally, it’s able to relax the body in a subtle way. Since the plant is more Sativa than Indica, the buzz starts in the front of your head as a crisp clean high before settling into a more relaxed feeling.
Growing
Purple Power was developed to grow well in northern climates, meaning it’s a hardy plant that can be cultivated in colder or wetter climates. In fact, the buds get more purple the cooler the climate. This strain does great outdoors or in a greenhouse but can be a bit difficult to grow indoors because the plants get really tall. The plant turns out high yields reaching up to 600 grams per M2. Another great plus, the flowering time of 8 to 10 weeks is shorter than a lot of other Sativa-dominant plants.
Appearance & Aroma
It may not surprise you to learn that the buds on the Purple Power strain are a rich purple color. The color of the flower becomes more purple when the plants are cultivated in cool outdoor conditions. The aroma of this strain is sweet and fruity, like a mix of blueberries and grapes.
MSNL Editors Verdict
The uplifting, happy, and focused buzz of Purple Power is one of the central highlights of this strain. It grows extremely well outdoors and in cool, wet conditions that not many other plants can handle. Lastly, the strong potency and gorgeous purple buds and blueberry aroma set this plant apart.
Tasting Notes
The tasting notes of Purple Power are quite similar to the aroma that the buds emit. When smoked, the buds have blueberry notes along with undertones of skunk. The flavour lingers for a while on your tongue and is something that many consumers love about this strain.
